Police issue warning after metal-laced food found at Stanley Park

TORONTO – Toronto police have issued a warning for pet owners after a hamburger patty laced with metal and another containing a white powdery substance was found at Stanley Park.

It was found near Stanley Terrace and Wellington Street West on Thursday.

Police are asking residents to keep a very close eye on their pets and any kind of food item that may be on the ground.

Dog owners at the park, Friday, told CityNews they were very concerned, and watching their pets more closely than usual.

Any similar incidents should be reported to police.

In September, acetaminophen-laced hot dogs were found at Oakvale Green Park, near Danforth and Greenwood avenues.

No illnesses have been reported in either incidents.

Police have been unable to track down any suspects in both cases.
