2 suspects sought in online fraudulent ticket scam

Police in Durham Region are looking two suspects in connection with an online fraudulent ticket scam.
Investigators said the suspects used the e-mail address “puerto.linda@yahoo.ca” to offer non-existent tickets to concerts and events for sale online.
They also said the victims transferred money to the people behind the e-mail address, but the tickets were neither delivered nor received.
Investigators identified at least $7,500 worth of fraudulent transactions. Police have issued warrants for Mamadou Sarr, 19, of Laval, Que., and Sharron Kathiresu, 20, of Montreal.
They faces charges of fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and laundering proceeds of crime.
Police warn that other e-mail addresses may have been used in the scam. They are:
