Police issue safety alert following violent cell phone robberies

TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto Police have issued a public safety alert following a series of violent cell phone robberies downtown.

A total of six people were robbed between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Sunday, October 6.

Three teenaged boys have been arrested while police say there are other suspects who remain outstanding.

The suspects are described as Asian males between the ages of 14 and 17.

Police are urging people to be aware of their surroundings at all times, especially when using a cell phone in public.
