Man charged after woman alleged sexually assaulted in York University library

TORONTO – A Toronto man has been charged after police say a female student was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a York University library.

Police say the 19-year-old woman was at the Scott Library on the school’s Keele campus Sunday afternoon when a man allegedly sexually assaulted her and committed an indecent act.

They say the woman alerted campus security who grabbed the man until police arrived.

Henry Kang, 35, faces one count each of sexual assault and indecent acts and appeared in court Monday morning.

The latest incident at the school follows an alleged sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman police say was groped form behind Sept. 6 at a frosh week party at a university residence.

The suspect in that incident is described as being in his late teens or early 20s and is somewhere between five feet two inches and five feet seven inches tall, with tanned skin and a medium build.
