Peel Regional Police launch “Talk and Text” campaign Monday

Peel Regional Police launch their “Talk and Text” campaign Monday, cracking down on distracted drivers.

The campaign kicks-off Monday and will continue for several weeks. Officers will be patrolling during rush hour, using various techniques to keep an eye on motorists not keeping their eyes on the road.

They will be looking for drivers using these items while operating their motor vehicles’ as well as while stopped at a light or stop sign.

“A driver using a cell phone is four times more likely to be in a motor vehicle collision than a driver focused on the road,” Peel Police said.
