TORONTO – A 26-year-old man has been pronounced dead in hospital after being pulled from Lake Ontario early Sunday morning.
Peel Police say they received a distress call from a woman who was out with two brothers at J.C. Saddington Park in Mississauga.
When police arrived “we arrived on scene and found a live male in the lake, apparently he had entered into the water to save the other male with negative results, he was holding onto a life preserver ring,” Staff Sergeant Matt Small told 680News.
That man received minor injuries.
Shortly after 1:45 a.m. the body of a 26-year-old man was found in Lake Ontario by Toronto Police’s Marine Unit. The man was taken to hospital, but they were unable to revive him.
The 2 men were brothers.
Police are investigating to see if alcohol may have been a factor — foul play is not suspected.
