Funeral for Caribbean Carnival float accident victim to be held Saturday

The teenager killed following this year’s Caribbean Carnival parade will be laid to rest, Saturday, despite his family being unsure how they will pay for the cost of his funeral.

According to the Toronto Star, Rueshad Grant’s family has received $6,000 in insurance money from the company which owns the float that killed him, but funeral costs are expected to be double that amount.

The family’s lawyer said attempts to reach out to the organizers of the Carnival have not resulted in any help.
