Beaches Jazz Festival closes down Queen Street

The Beaches Jazz Festival continues this week with its signature event, Streetfest.

More than 40 bands will play every corner of Queen Street East from Woodbine to Beech Ave.

The performers include top Canadian acts like Neil Chapman, George Oliver, Samba Squad, Johannes Linstead, Paul James and Hennessy Talent winner Maneli Jamal, selected by a group of judges including 680News showbiz editor Gloria Martin.

Streetfest runs Friday July 26 and Saturday July 27 from 7 to 11 p.m.

Jazz at Kew Gardens runs Saturday July 27 and Sunday July 28 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Road closures

Queen St. E. is scheduled to be closed in both directions, from Woodbine to Beech avenues, from 6 p.m. and midnight.

TTC streetcars will be on diversion during the closures, but modified bus service will run on Woodbine Ave. and Main St.

Residents may access and exit their streets at the following locations:

South of Queen St. E. from Balsam to Lee avenues
North and south on Lee Ave.
South on Wineva Ave.
South of Queen St. E. from Waverley Rd. to Kippendavie Ave.
South on Waverley Rd. (only from Norway Avenue or Kingston Road)
Exit via Kew Beach Ave. at Woodbine Ave.
