TORONTO, Ont. – A special-weather statement remains in effect for the City of Toronto and much of southern Ontario and the GTA.
Environment Canada is calling for the temperatures in parts of southwestern Ontario to reach the low thirties, feeling more like 40 C with the humidex.
680News meteorologist Harold Hosein says that when we touch 40 C there is a major danger of heat stroke.
“When humidex readings climb into the high thirties it’s very important to keep hydrated and reduce outdoor strenous activity to avoid heat stroke,” Hosein said.
This humidity will likely stick with us for the next few days, bringing muggy weather and thunderstorms with it.
