Pride Week: One of Toronto’s biggest festivals kicks off this weekend as Pride Week celebrates the diverse sexual and gender identities of its LGBTQ community. The celebration is one of the world’s largest gay pride festivals – and the city is hosting World Pride next year. People of all genders and sexualities are welcome. Various Toronto locations. TD Toronto Jazz Festival:  Performances at over 60 locations across the city will see Toronto music lovers jazz it up this weekend, with shows from Mavis Staples, Dr. John and the Night Trippers, and Steve Martin. Be sure to head to the festival Friday to take advantage of a full day of free concerts, including a performance by Smokey Robinson at Nathan Phillips Square. Various Toronto locations. June 20-29. Redpath Waterfront Festival: Toronto commemorates the War of 1812 on the waterfront with activities including deck tours and a Tall Ships exhibit. Come kick off your summer by the water and participate in this unique festival – on land activities are also on offer. Queen’s Quay from Lower Spadina Avenue to Lower Sherbourne Street. Annual Leslieville Tree Festival: Get out and celebrate the nature that urban Toronto has to offer, even in the east end of downtown. This event has activities for the whole family including performances from local musicians and dancers, a native plant sale, local and organic food and activities for children. Leslie Grove Park. On the Move Cycling Tour: Frustrated by the state of cycling in the city? Join the city’s chief planner, Jennifer Keesmaat, for a bike tour and talk about transit in Toronto.
