Hundreds show up downtown Saturday for rally asking Mayor Ford to resign

Hundreds of people gathered in front of City Hall Saturday afternoon with a message for embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

Holding anti-Ford signs and chanting slogans, the crowd loudly requested that Ford step down from his post.

The event, called ‘Stand up for Toronto, Let’s Demand Rob Ford’s Resignation’, was scheduled to start at noon at Nathan Phillips Square with no end time given.

A Facebook page for the event showed nearly 4,000 people have pledged to show up. You can find more on the event here.

Attendees were being asked to bring chalk to write down their opinions and requests on the concrete outside City Hall.

Many of them brought signs, badges and definitely their energy, with some jumping around shouting anti-Ford slogans.
