Leafs prepare for Game 2 against Bruins on Saturday

The Toronto Maple Leafs are gearing up for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarter-final against the Boston Bruins on Saturday in Beantown.

It’s time to shake it off, re-focus, and be better — Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf said all of the guys know that.

“Obviously we weren’t happy with the way that we played — we feel we can play a lot better, and we’re going to have to do that,” Phaneuf said.

Easier said than done after Wednesday’s humiliating start to the Leafs first playoff game in nine years.

So how do you get past a loss like that?

“You let that one go. It wasn’t their best performance, obviously. It’s a long series, so ‘lose it, out of your mind ASAP’ and focus on the next one,” former Leafs player Doug Gilmour said.

Game 1 was a collective failure, so Gilmour said if Toronto wants to turn Game 2 around, it has to be a team effort, which means going hard each and every shift.

There are reports coach Randy Carlyle will also give the line up a little overhaul.
