Prison psychologist expected on stand at Ashley Smith death probe

By The Canadian Press

The Ashley Smith prison-death inquest resumes in Toronto on Monday with a psychologist slated to testify.

Cindy Presse dealt with the troubled teenager at the psychiatric prison in Saskatoon.

Last week, the inquest heard from the psychiatrist in charge of the facility, who assessed Smith as mentally ill.

Smith was 19 when she hanged herself in her cell at a prison in Kitchener, Ont., in October 2007.
