A Mountie accused of abusing an 11-year-old boy is now facing a new allegation involving a second child.
The 41-year-old officer appeared in court via video-link Saturday.
According to the Ottawa Citizen, court documents allege a two-and-a-half year old boy was assaulted repeatedly with a wooden stick beginning in 2010.
The Mountie and his 34-year-old wife are already charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and failing to provide the necessities of life.
The officer, who worked in an anti-terrorism unit, is also charged with aggravated assault.
He has been off active-duty since 2011.
A bail hearing for his wife is set to start March 18 while the officer is due back in court on March 22.
