Scarborough home destroyed by fire

TORONTO, Ont. – A Scarborough home was destroyed by a two-alarm fire Thursday night.

Toronto fire received a call about a blaze that broke out on Kessack Court, in the Neilson Road and Sheppard Avenue area, shortly before 7 p.m.

When crews arrived, it was too late to save the house, Toronto Fire Capt. David Eckerman told CityNews.

The roof collapsed and the first floor was “burnt through,” he said.

No injuries were reported. But the residents cannot return to the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Arson is not suspected, according to Toronto police.
