Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in Pickering

A multi-vehicle collision Pickering Friday morning has killed one Oshawa man.

Durham police responded to a call reporting a collision involving three vehicles in the area of Brock and Whitevale roads.

The driver of a beige Ford station wagon was a 49-year-old Oshawa man was travelling southbound on Brock Road approaching Whitevale Road when the driver lost control of his vehicle before crossing over into the northbound lanes.

The Ford was struck on the passenger side by a northbound grey Dodge Ram pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was a 28-year-old Ajax man.

A red Chevrolet Lumina, being driven by a 36-year-old Brougham man, was also travelling northbound when he struck the Ford.

All three vehicles came to rest on the east edge of northbound lanes north of Whitevale Road.

The driver of the Ford station wagon was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the Dodge pickup truck and Chevrolet Lumina were not injured in the collision.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation.

The roadway was closed for several hours while police investigated.

Weather conditions were not favourable at the time of the accident.
