Leafs beat Sabres 4-3 in overtime on last-second goal

The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Buffalo Sabres in overtime by a score of 4-3 Tuesday night, after a last-second goal by Matt Frattin.

Frattin was impressive in the win, scoring two goals and playing tough in front of the net, deflecting shots and screening Sabres’ goalie Ryan Miller.

“That last one I just tried to get it on net, chipped it by the D-man and just drove, just trying to put it on net on the blocker side,” Frattin said.

Also scoring for the Leafs were Cody Franson and Jay McClement, while budding star Nazem Kadri added another assist, bringing his point total to six points in six games.

In net for the Leafs, James Reimer stopped 29/32 shots and looked relatively strong, continuing his solid start to the season.

The Leafs only managed a total of 24 shots on goal, but with strong play in front of the net that would be all they needed.

The Leafs next play against the Washington Capitals on Thursday.
