680News brightens up your ‘Blue Monday’ with Leafs tickets, cash

If you’re feeling down, keep in mind it is Blue Monday, which falls on the third Monday of January, and is considered the most depressing day of the year.
Whether it’s due to a lack of sunlight, post-Christmas debt or failed New Years resolutions, Blue Monday can leave some of us feeling down and out.
With that in mind, 680News decided to try and lift your spirits with a series of giveaways to Insider Club members Monday morning.
The Blue Monday contest saw $5,000 in cash given away, while the Blue and White Monday contest saw four pairs of tickets to the Leafs home opener given to members of our Insider Club.
“Wow that’s great, that’d be super… That’s super duper, yeah. (My Monday) just got a lot better,” said Bill Harvey of Pickering, the first to win Leafs tickets from the draw.
Our second Leafs tickets winner, Danny Tang from Markham, said we gave him a wake-up call this morning with the news.
“You definitely did, yes for sure (it was a good wake-up call),” Tang said.
Our third Leafs tickets winner, Wanda Stasyna of Etobicoke, wasn’t around to pick up our call, but her daughter did.
“Oh wow, she has been looking forward to that because it’s actually her birthday today,” she said.
The fourth and final winner of the Leafs tickets was Shirley Au Yeung from Mississauga.
Finally, the big winner of the $5,000 prize was Beverly Wong of Thornhill, who was on her way to work when we called.
We have a feeling she might be booking some vacation time as soon as possible.
