Unlike a certain monkey in Toronto, it appears a deer in Vancouver will get to stay with its unlikely owner.
A Vancouver Island woman who has shared her home with a deer for nearly ten years is being allowed to keep her pet.
Janet Schwartz found the doe when it was an orphan, took it in and named it Bimbo.
The deer lives in her house and even sleeps on her bed.
A threat to remove the deer prompted a public outcry, with the BC Environment Ministry now saying Schwartz can keep her pet with the guidance of a vet and conservation officers.
