Man, 27, in hospital after shooting near Woodbine Racetrack

Police tape off the area after a man, 27, was found shot at Woodbine Racetrack.

TORONTO, Ont. – A 27-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was found shot at Woodbine Racetrack Saturday morning.

The man was shot in the back, according to police, who say he suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.

The man was located on the grounds of the racetrack, which is located at Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27, at around 3:45 a.m.

There are some reports that the victim may have been shot off the property before walking onto it, although this has not yet been confirmed by police.

There has been no word on a motive for the shooting or if police have a suspect description.
