HAMILTON, Ont. – Police in Hamilton have launched an investigation into the death earlier this week of a six-week-old infant.
The boy was brought into a hospital emergency room on Dec. 23 showing signs of medical distress.
The baby died the next morning.
Police say an autopsy has found that there were injuries on the baby that were “not consistent with a natural death.”
The homicide unit is leading the probe, which is standard procedure for sudden deaths of children under the age of five.
No other details were released.
