Research finds Rudolph’s red nose really glows

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer is polishing up his nose and getting ready to guide Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve.

For all the skeptics wondering if Rudolph’s nose is really red – scientists in Europe have discovered that his nose really does glow red.

A team of Scientists at Rotterdam’s Erasmus University, have always wanted to know why the famous reindeer’s road is red.

The study published in the British Medical Journal, Doctor Can Ince and his team worked with two of Rudolph’s friends from Norway. Research showed that reindeer have 25-percent more blood vessels in their noses than humans do.

Doctor Ince said that Rudolph’s red nose “protects it from freezing during sleigh rides and regulates the temperature of the reindeer’s brain during the extreme temperatures,” Doctor Ince said.
