OSHAWA, Ont. – Durham regional police say an 18-year-old Brampton man is facing charges after allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend in Oshawa.
Police say a man got into an altercation with his former girlfriend on Monday at a residence near the University of Ontario Institute of Technology campus on Simcoe Street North.
Investigators say friends of the 18-year-old victim were unable to stop the man from dragging her out of the building and forcing her into a car.
Officers located the vehicle a short time later trying to access Highway 401 and the man was taken into custody with the assistance of the canine unit.
The suspect and a police officer received minor injuries, and the victim was located in the vehicle, unharmed.
