3 injured in fire at west-end retirement home

TORONTO, Ont. – Three people were injured in a fire that broke out in a retirement home in the city’s west-end Wednesday evening.
Fire crews responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. at an apartment on West Lodge Avenue in the Lansdowne Avenue and Queen Street West area.
A woman in her 60s was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation and minor burns to her hands.
A man in his 50s suffered minor smoke inhalation. A third person, believe to be 70 years old, was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.
