Peel police charge man in connection with armed robbery investigation

BRAMPTON, Ont. – A 27-year-old man is facing several charges in connection with a string of armed robberies at financial outlets and stores outside Toronto.
    
Peel region police say a total of eight financial institutions and retail stores in Mississauga and Brampton were robbed between August and December by a male suspect using a black handgun.
    
Investigators with the force’s robbery bureau released surveillance footage of a suspect on Monday.
    
Christopher Seecharran, of Brampton, is charged with eight counts of robbery and three counts of using an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.
    
He was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
