MILVERTON, Ont. – A 23-year-old man is charged with first-degree murder after a shooting in Milverton, Ont., that left a 17-year-old girl dead and a man critically injured.

Officers responded to a call from a residence on Edward Street, in the town north of Stratford, at about 10 p.m. Tuesday and found the two victims inside the home.

Police say Michael Schweitzer, a Milverton resident, was charged Wednesday in the death of 17-year-old Nicole Wagler.

He is also charged with attempted murder with a firearm in connection with the shooting of 22-year-old Tyler Baker.

Baker is in critical condition at a London hospital.

Schweitzer appeared at a Stratford courthouse Wednesday and has been remanded in custody until Dec. 7 when he will make another court appearance.
