SIU investigates after boy struck by Peel police cruiser

BRAMPTON, Ont. – An eight-year-old suffered a broken leg when he was struck by a Peel police cruiser in Brampton Monday.

The province’s police watchdog is investigating.

Two police cruisers responded to a call on Moregate Crescent, near Dixie Road and Bovaird Drive East, around 8:45 a.m. when one of the cruisers struck the boy.

He was taken to hospital for treatment of a broken leg.

The SIU has assigned five investigators, two forensic investigators and a collision reconstructionist to probe the incident.
