Police identify body found on Stouffville Road as 25-year-old Richmond Hill man

YORK Region, Ont. – Police have identified a man’s body found lying on Stouffville Road in Richmond Hill as 25-year-old Artem Tchourkach.
Police now say the body is being treated as a fatal pedestrian collision, after it was found on Stouffville Road, between Bayview Avenue and Yonge Street, by a passing-by driver around 4 a.m. Sunday.
Inspector Angelo De Lorenzi told 680News they still don’t know the circumstances around how the man died.
“I can only appeal to the public for any assistance, if they were driving along Stouffville Road and something struck them as out of the norm, then please call us,” Lorenzi said.
Stouffville Road was closed between Bayview Avenue and Yonge Street for the investigation.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
