Turkey bars its airspace to Syrian civilian flights

Turkey’s foreign minister says the country has barred its airspace to Syrian civilian flights.

The minister says the country made the decision because the Syrian regime was abusing civilian flights by transporting military equipment.

Last week Turkey forced a Syrian, flying from Russia, to land and confiscated what it said was munitions and military equipment.

Russia was upset and said the plane was only carrying spare radar parts

Syria, meanwhile, accused Turkey of piracy.
