Golf in Schools program launched in Canadian secondary schools

Thousands of high school students across Canada will be hitting the links as part of the new Golf in Schools program.

Students in grade nine through 12 will be given the opportunity to be introduced to the game of golf as part of their high school physical education curriculum.

A total of 40 high schools have already registered for the program, while 200 additional schools are expected to sign on in the first year.

The program was created by Physical Health and Education Canada in partnership with Golf Canada and the PGA of Canada.

The Golf in Schools elementary school program is already in place, with close to 1,800 schools participating.
