Seth MacFarlane to host 85th annual Oscars

Comedian Seth MacFarlane has been announced as the host of the 85th Academy Awards.

This will be his first appearance on Oscars’ stage.

Officials at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said MacFarlane’s performing skills blend perfectly with the show to make it entertaining and fresh.

He is best known as the creator of “Family Guy,” “American Dad,” and “The Cleveland Show.” MacFarlane also co-wrote, produced and directed, “Ted,” and voiced the title character.

In September, he hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the first time, for the show’s 38th season premiere.

MacFarlane has also received 13 Emmy nominations and won two for his work on “Family Guy.”
