Suspects in Oshawa home invasion arrested

OSHAWA, Ont. – Five suspects, including a youth, in an Oshawa home invasion were arrested at gunpoint over the weekend, Durham Regional Police said on Tuesday.

Police responded to an armed home invasion on Sept. 16 in the Highway 401 and Simcoe Street area.

Five men, including one man armed with a handgun, forcibly entered the home of an Oshawa family, confronting two adults and their children.

The suspects demanded cash and drugs and fled the home with an unspecified amount of money.

None of the residents were harmed. Police do not believe the attack was random.

The suspects were arrested in the area without incident.

Police executed a search warrant of the vehicle and uncovered two handguns and ammunition.

Marlon Jones, 35, of Ajax, Kevin Ley, 23, of Oshawa, Howard Burke, 22, of Ajax, Robert Jasmer, 21, of Clarington and a 17-year-old youth from Scarborough face charges of break and enter with intent, robbery with an offensive weapon and weapon-related charges.
