TORONTO, Ont. – Fearing a condo tower will take its place, residents in a north-end neighbourhood are trying to stop the sale of the historic Postal Station K.
A rally, led by MPP Mike Colle, is planned on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the site of Postal Station K, at Yonge Street and Montgomery Avenue, to protest the possible sale of the post office.
The Art Deco building was built in 1937. In 1837, it was the site of Montgomery’s Tavern where the Upper Canada Rebellion was organized and launched.
