Peel Police are searching for a teenaged subject following a stabbing at a Brampton high school, Tuesday morning.
A teenage boy was attacked at Cardinal Leger, near St. Mary’s School and McHugh Public School. All three schools were put under hold and secure, but lockdowns had lifted by lunchtime.
Police said the boy’s injuries are non-life threatening and he is expected to recover.
The suspect immediately fled the scene, resulting in police bringing in the K9 Unit for the investigation. Several witnesses were interviewed.
In a letter to parents, the school’s principal wrote “this is an unfortunate way to start the school year and it not typical of the safe, caring, healthy and inclusive environment that we strive to foster and maintain.”
The principal added “it is my goal to keep parents and guardians informed of events and activities, both in our school and in the community, that impact us.”
