Toronto MPP rallies to keep historic post office

TORONTO, Ont. – A Toronto MPP is fighting to keep an historic post office in his neighbourhood open.
Canada Post is selling Postal Station K at the corner of Yonge Street and Montgomery.
It was the site of Montgomery’s Tavern where William Lyon Mackenzie and his followers launched the Upper Canada rebellion of 1837.
Eglinton-Lawrence MPP Mike Colle has organized a rally for outside the building at 7 p.m., Monday.
Colle said he wants any future development project of the site to protect its historical integrity.
