Sportsnet Jays broadcasters complete EdgeWalk for charity

Two Sportsnet announcers have gone far above the clouds to raise money for charity, completing the CN Tower’s EdgeWalk to help the Jays Care Foundation.

Pat Tabler said the idea for him and Buck Martinez to complete the adventure came about during a Jays game.

“My partner opened up his big mouth and he goes ‘hey, we need to do that!’ and I’m like going, ‘you need to do that, so let’s make a day of this kind of thing and see how much money we can raise’,” Tabler told 680News.

Just before embarking on the EdgeWalk journey, Tabler admitted he was “not good,” but despite fear, the two broadcasters successfully completed their journey.

An exhilirated Buck Martinez called the EdgeWalk “maybe the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

Danielle Bedasse, Executive Director od the Jays Care foundation said all money raised will go towards “programs and opportunities for children and youth, in the areas of education, physical activity and life skill development.”
