Riders give TTC passing grade in customer satisfaction survey

TORONTO, Ont. – The TTC has released the results of its first customer satisfaction survey.

550 regular transit users were questioned and gave the service an overall rating of 76 per cent.

However, there were complaints about crowded buses and streetcars.

21 per cent balked at the streetcars being packed and 17 per cent felt the buses are too crowded.

When it came to riders getting the most for their money, 21 per cent said they believe they are getting excellent value, 39 per cent say it is good value and 32 per cent describe it as average value.

However, the TTC scored low when it came to communication with customers.  77 per cent of subway users surveyed say they were not aware of service disruptions before entering the station.

The TTC is working on a system that would notify riders of any disruptions before they pay their fare.
