Some of stolen art from Sick Kids hospital recovered

TORONTO, Ont. – Some of the art stolen from Hospital for Sick Children have reportedly been recovered, but there’s no word yet on if the thief has been charged.

CityNews reported police have found some of the art that was taken from the hospital on University Avenue last week.  

On Tuesday, Toronto police released images of a suspect wanted in connection with an art theft.

It was reported that on April 19, at around 630 p.m. a man attended the Burton Wing of the Hospital for Sick Children, and stole nine 18″x18″ framed prints, from a wall.

The prints are described as 9″ square pictures with an alphabet letter on each piece.

Police said a plaque was also taken with the artist’s name, Darren Rigo.

The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • 6′
  • Medium build
  • Dark-brown hair
  • Glasses with dark frames
  • Clean-shaven
  • Wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt, dark pants, and black shoes

Police say he may have left in a light-coloured four-door Mercedes.
