TTC investigates after video of subway driver using cellphone on the job surfaces

TORONTO, Ont. – The TTC is investigating after a video posted to YouTube allegedly shows a subway driver using a cellphone while operating the subway.

In the video an employee can be seen in the front cab of a subway train operating the controls while using a cellphone in the other.

TTC rep Danny Nicholson told the Toronto Star the transit commission is aware of the video and is investigating.

It is against the TTC policy for an operator to use a cellphone while driving a vehicle.

The video description claims the video was taken on a TTC subway travelling southbound between Eglinton and Bloor.

According to the Star, the TTC punished dozens of drivers for texting and driving last year.
