Do you know the words to ‘O Canada’?

TORONTO, Ont. – A trustee with the Toronto Catholic District School Board reportedly wants schools to stop playing a recorded version of “O Canada.”

Even though singing the national anthem is required each morning in our schools, Angela Kennedy told The Toronto Star most students don’t bother, so she wants to force them to sing it without the music.

680News took to the street to gauge reaction. “All our generation had to sing it, I don’t think it hurt any of us,” Fred said.

Kennedy told the Star she feels it’s unpatriotic that most students don’t sing “O Canada” even at large events like graduation ceremonies.

Her proposal goes before the board next week.
