Sovereign Awards to be handed out Thursday at Woodbine Racetrack

TORONTO, Ont. – The Jockey Club of Canada is holding its annual Sovereign Awards at Woodbine Racetrack, Thursday night, and our own Peter Gross from Sportsnet 590 The Fan is a nominee.
The Sovereigns are the trophies given for accomplishments in Canadian horse racing.
Gross is nominated for a story he wrote for the newspaper Down the Stretch about a popular horse owner and his battle with cancer. Read story
If Gross wins, it will be the third time he will be taking home a Sovereign Award.
