Portion of Queen St. W. closed due to falling glass

TORONTO, Ont. – Police were forced to close a busy section of Queen Street West Monday morning, after glass fell from a building in the area.

The street was closed for several hours between St. Patrick Street and Simcoe Street, near University Avenue.

Police tell 680News the glass fell from 180 Queen Street West, adding that it would likely be several hours before the area was secure.

The street was opened again around 4:30 p.m., after being closed since just before 11:00 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries in the area and streetcar service has not been affected.

Over the weekend Bay and Adelaide Streets were closed at the corner after glass fell from the Toronto Trump Tower.
