Goodbye winter … hello spring!

The winter that almost never was, is now officially over. Spring arrived at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday.

And there is no sign that the record-breaking streak for temperatures is about to come to an end. In the next 24 hours, we are going to jump straight to June-like weather.

The forecast for the GTA, including Toronto, Tuesday, calls for a guaranteed high of 22 C, which means we could shatter a record set back in 1976.

This weather is definitely not normal, according to Environment Canada senior climatologist Dave Phillips.

“More normal for the first day of summer, but that’s three months from now. I can’t impress upon you how spectacular this kind of mild spell has been,” Phillips said.

Many experts are suggesting we could hit it out of the park on Wednesday because it could end up being the warmest March day ever recorded.
