TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto council may have jeopardized plans to implement the Presto electronic payment system, when it rejected Mayor Ford’s transit expansion vision.
Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong told The Toronto Star that the memo rejected by councillors last week contained a clause that committed the city to the Presto Smartcard.
However, he says if the underground transit deal is off, the transit payment system could once again be up for discussion.
