Air Canada and Porter implement ‘one price’ advertising

When it comes to air travel, the price you see is the price you pay.

Air Canada’s price listings are now all-inclusive.

The move is ahead of the Canadian Transportation Agency forcing airlines to implement this step.  That is expected to go through by the end of 2012 even though it first was introduced to parliament in 2003.

Brad Davies with Virtually There Travel told 680News this is a win for consumers.

“That’s truth in advertising. That way a client or a customer, regardless of where they are looking for Air Canada information, is going to get the bottom line pricing.”

Jordan Bateman with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation added that now airlines will really compete.

“I actually hope it brings down prices because I think they’ll have to prove that they can be competitive with the American airlines.”

Porter Airline announced, Wednesday, they will implement ‘one price’ advertising as of February 10.
