Police make arrest in west-end arson investigation

TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police have arrested one man in a major west-end arson investigation.

On July 2, between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m., a suspect set fire to several locations around Christie Pits Park, between Shaw Street and Christie Street.

The fires damaged multiple homes, garages, vehicles and other structures.

It is estimated that the fires caused around $1-million in damage.

30-year-old Dallas Rostant has been charged with multiple counts of arson-related charges, possession of an incendiary material and theft under $5,000.
