If you find yourself struggling to fall asleep at night, or waking too early in the morning, try swapping a glass of cherry juice for your evening cup of cocoa.
A team of international researchers has found that adults who drink two daily glasses of tart cherry juice, not cocktail, slept an average of 25 minutes longer at night, and spent 14 extra minutes relaxing in bed.
The scientists say it is because cherries contain melatonin, a powerful antioxidant that helps regulate sleep-wake cycles.
