Overnight fire causing $40,000 in damage believed to be arson

An overnight fire on Mabelle Avenue near Dundas Street West is now believed to be arson, according to CityNews.

TORONTO, Ont. – An overnight fire in the city’s west-end is now believed to be arson.

CityNews is reporting the fire at Mabelle Avenue and Dundas Street West started on the fifth floor, after someone allegedly set a mattress on fire in the hallway.

There is no word on whether police have a suspect in the blaze.

No one was hurt in the incident, but damage is estimated at approximately $40,000.
