Over 30 per cent of Canadians law abiding when paying taxes

Are you likely to cheat on your taxes?

The Canada Revenue Agency has done market research and divided taxpayers into six categories.

It found 31 per cent of Canadians are “law abiding,” while 12 per cent are “rationalizers,” who think taxes are unfair and cheating is no big deal.

“Underground economists” make up 12 percent — they pay cash to avoid taxes.

And then, there are the 13 per cent of Canadians called “the outlaws,” who do whatever they can to avoid paying taxes.
