Biggest afro makes the Guinness world record

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – Aevin Dugas of Napoleonville, Louisiana has the very first Guinness world record for the biggest afro.
It measure 4 feet 4 inches around but Duga said on good hair days, she can pick it out to 5 feet around.
Dugas, 36, works with women with developmental disabilities and recently flew to London for Guinness’ release of its 2012 book.
She said she is getting great reaction to her big ‘do.’
“I am liking the responses I am getting from little girls, little black girls, who wear their hair in an afro .. Actually all little girls,” said Dugas.
She does admit the 5 foot afro does get in the way some times and she admits to having closed her hair in a car door.
